Why in the world, when success is available to everyone, do so few succeed? To the vast majority of managers, teachers and parents, this is one of the most perplexing questions with which they can be confronted.
Many will tell you it is a rhetorical question – there is no answer. However, that is just not so. There is an answer and I want to share it with you. Perhaps you have already heard the answer. Albert E. N. Gray delivered it in a speech years ago in Philadelphia. The speech was titled, The Common Denominator of Success. Mr. Gray explained that success is something achieved by the minority of men and women, it is therefore unusual, and not to be achieved by following our usual likes and dislikes, nor by being guided by our natural preferences and prejudices. In other words, success cannot be achieved by doing what comes naturally. Gray said the common denominator of success is in forming the habit of doing things that failures don’t like to do. Let me repeat, successful people form the habit of doing things failures don’t like to do. Mr. Gray was asked why the successful people like doing the things that make them successful. He replied that the beautiful truth is, successful people don’t like doing these things, which is precisely why they have formed the habit of doing them. A habit is something you do without any conscious thought given… you automatically do it. Successful people are influenced by the desire for pleasing results. Failures are influenced by the desire for pleasing activities. They are inclined to be satisfied with such results as can be obtained by doing things they like to do. Make a list of six activities you know will give you the success you seek. Commit to do these things religiously for thirty days and they will become habitual. Then, as William James put it, you will wake up one fine day to find you are one of the competent ones of your generation.

Paradigms — what are they? Is it a buzzword for the information age? It very well may be, but it’s one you need to seriously consider. Because if you’re like most people, paradigms are controlling every move you make.
Paradigms are a multitude of habits that guide every move you make. They affect the way you eat, the way you walk, even the way you talk. They govern your communication, your work habits, your successes and your failures. For the most part, your paradigms didn’t originate with you. They’re the accumulated inheritance of other people’s habits, opinions, and belief systems. Yet they remain the guiding force in YOUR life. Negative and faulty paradigms are why ninety-some percent of the population keeps getting the same results, year in and year out. What about you? Is success slipping through your fingers? Do you feel like you’re doing all the right things to achieve your goals and get to where you want to be in life, but still can’t seem to get there? Do you see people with more money, more success, more happiness than you have and think, “What am I doing wrong?” I can tell you right now that the problem isn’t you. It’s your paradigms. If you want to change your results — really change them, forever — shifting your paradigms is the only way to do it. When that shift happens, everything becomes different… just like THAT. In order to replace an old paradigm that doesn’t serve you (i.e., “I’ve never been able to make more than $40,000 a year), you must lay a new paradigm over that old one, ensuring that it’s sealed from “leaking through” again. When you understand how to lay this floor, so to speak, you will expose yourself to a brand new world of power, possibility and promise. Think of the areas in your life that money affects. Imagine shifting your paradigm there to substantially increase your income before year’s end. Or maybe you have difficulty meeting people. Altering the paradigm so that it’s easy and enjoyable to meet people could have an incredible impact on your life. These are just two examples of hundreds of paradigm shifts that could be done in your life today. Remember: there will be no permanent change in your life until the paradigm has been changed. Choose one or two limiting ideas that are part of your paradigm and replace them with ideas that represent freedom to you. Consciously keep those new thoughts in your head, and act as if those thoughts are already embedded in the foundation of your life. Before you know it, your life will begin to change — dramatically! You gotta know what you’re good at.
Which brings me to what I want to share with you today… Get good at something worth getting good at. You see, the reason most people are not wealthy isn’t because they’re not good at what they do. It’s the simple fact that they’re good at something that doesn’t give them the opportunity to be wealthy. The last job I ever had was as a publisher for The Examiner Publication online from age 40-51. It was very enduring being able to share the word of God with others. I also shared my own beliefs when it came to the verses I would share and had quite the following. It was nice because the following I had would communicate on their beliefs as well and it helped us all grow closer to Christ. The only problem I found was the money was hard to accumulate because getting paid off clicks really did not work that well back then. The Examiner closed its publication. But no matter how good I was, I had zero chance of becoming a millionaire as a publisher online. I realized I was good at sharing the word but had to find another way to build a nest egg. Same with most jobs out there… It doesn’t matter much how good you are, it’s very hard, if not impossible, to become a millionaire doing it. Thankfully, I had been working my network marketing business in Trading Currency as well as Trading myself on the side and was super focused on getting good because here’s what I knew… Even though network marketing is much more challenging to get really good… if I did it, it gave me the opportunity to get wealthy because I have something anyone can make a good living at trading currency. Trading is a trade to learn and once learned the sky is the limit. with everything going on today we have no idea what is going to happen next but there is one thing for certain Money will change its effects. We don’t know the exact time this change in how money works is going to happen but why not prepare for the change before it happens this time. Look into (IPO). Also to learn more go to my group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/750684725671806 and join I still do publish on Gods word through https://ellesblogsite.wordpress.com/ everyday just now its for the reason it has always been meant to be for and that is to serve Gods wonder without anything in return but for the Glory of others. If you want to be wealthy, you’ve got to get good at something WORTH getting good at. If you want to be wealthy, you’ve got to work hard at something WORTH working hard at. And listen, I knew money wasn’t everything - but I wanted to at least find out for myself! I’m glad I found out Recently a lady told me she felt stuck. That’s a pretty common feeling, so let’s talk about how to get unstuck.
If you have a dream that you are struggling to execute, start by increasing your awareness. You see, right now the dream is weak because it’s only in your conscious mind. It’s like a little sapling that has just been planted in the ground. Somebody can come along with two fingers and pull it right out of the ground. But if it were a strong tree with deep roots, they’d need a bulldozer. So you have to give your dream deeper roots by also planting it in your subconscious mind, which is equivalent to planting it in your heart. But before you do that, you must be aware of two things… First, you already have something planted in your heart: . You were born with it, and it is like a weed that has grown over the course of your life. And this weed will overpower your dream IF YOU LET IT. And secondly, you’ve got to make sure that your dream is something you really want! If it’s just something you think you can do, but you’re not really excited about it, you’re going to have a hard time focusing on it. Think about it. You don’t have a hard time focusing on something you really want. Do you remember the first time you fell in love? My God! Every place you looked that person would be in your mind. You would look at your potatoes and there they were! ‘In love’ means ‘in harmony with.’ That’s the way you’ve got to be with your dream. You’ve got to fall in love with it! Now, to give your dream deeper roots, you have to make up your mind that there’s no way you’re going to let anything overpower it. You’ve got to say, “This is NOT going to happen! Not this time. I’m going to keep building my dream and I’m going to overpower it. I’m going to change the thought into the dream.” Then, you do some work every day. You visualize, write your dream on your goal card and read it with feeling several times a day, and see yourself as already having the goal. When your discipline starts to dissipate, say, “No way! I am not going to permit that to happen. This is not going to remain a wish. I am not going to permit this dream to die anymore.” When you make up your mind that you’re not going to let circumstances derail you, the whole world shifts… The work stops feeling like work because you’re doing what you love. And you move into a state of mastery. You learn how to master your emotions and take control of yourself. You learn how to build a concept, plan and respond to all the nonsense that’s going on. In other words, you learn how to think and how to execute your plan. After you’ve done it once, you’ll know that you can do it over and over again. You’ll know that when you hold the right vision, you’re on a winning path where there is no stuck. So if you’re feeling stuck, it’s YOU that is stuck. It’s not the conditions or circumstances. It’s not other people. It’s not the system. It’s not your bank account. You are the only problem you will ever have and you are the only solution. Listen, this is your life and you’re the only one who can change it. So make a stand for yourself and your dream right here, right now. Surely, you’ve heard the advice to “step out of your comfort zone.”
But what does that I mean? And is it even a good idea? The truth is comfort zones are more complicated than most people think. Ask any average Joe on the street what a comfort zone is, and he’ll tell you it’s “the way you’re used to doing things.” Or “it’s a state where you feel in control and familiar with what’s going on.” A psychologist may say our comfort zone is a space where our behaviors and activities fit a routine and pattern that minimizes our stress and perception of risk. Doing familiar things and having routines gives us a sense of mental security, so we tend to spend most of our time in our comfort zone. However, that doesn’t mean our lives are always the same… Comfort Zones Are Not StaticEveryone has a comfort zone. However, it’s different for each one of us. And our comfort zone changes over time as our thoughts, actions, experiences, skillsets, and goals evolve. For the most part, leaving our comfort zone doesn’t present an actual threat to us. Rather, it’s what we perceive as threatening, such as speaking in public or being in the dark. Or it could be any time you go to make a significant change in lifestyle, or you are setting a goal that results in you skipping a couple of rungs on the ladder of success. You would expect that over time your comfort zone will expand as you learn, grow, and have more life experience. However, the opposite can be true. For example, if you keep having the same or similar experiences, your comfort zone can shrink if you aren’t training or preparing yourself for the experience. The same thing happens to your muscles when you stop training them; they begin to atrophy. Is It a Good Idea to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone?Since you’re already reasonably comfortable in life, why would you want to change that? Why introduce stress? First, you’ve got to realize stress is not always bad for you. Feeling dissatisfied is often a healthy stress that can be a catalyst for growth. It can provide you with powerful motivation that moves you forward to action. If you step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, you’ll grow and take on new risks. Being unwilling to take risks is like saying you’re okay with settling for “good enough.” But you weren’t designed for “good enough.” You were born to grow and pursue greater and greater accomplishments. “Good enough” means you’re turning your back on a future that is so much better than anything you can imagine right now. So, the next time you come across a new idea or opportunity, ask yourself this: “Will this new idea improve the direction of my life? Is it positive? Creative? Constructive?” If the answer is “yes,” it’s a good idea to step out of your comfort zone. You’re More Capable Than You ThinkAlways remember, you have deep reservoirs of talent and ability. You can draw those abilities to the surface and shift toward greater prosperity when you move beyond your current comfort zone. Not only that, but you’ll be opening your subconscious mind. That makes it easier to see the possibilities in things that other people call pipe dreams. After all, one person’s pipe dream could be your path to true life satisfaction. If moving beyond your comfort zone will likely make you slightly uncomfortable, or maybe wholly uncomfortable. However, it’s what pushes you to achieve goals that once seemed unreachable and to make your life far more rewarding. Your Thoughts?Like all things, a comfort zone can be both a good and a bad thing. However, staying locked in it indefinitely will not allow you to be who you are capable of being. And, most certainly, your big dreams and goals won’t come to pass because you need to stretch to reach them, and you can’t do that from your comfort zone. We’re going to be talking about comfort zones a lot this month, so I’d love to hear from you… Do you think people should sometimes stay in their comfort zone, or should they push at the boundaries of their comfort zone relentlessly? Leave a comment below. One out of two people who set goals at the beginning of a year abandons those goals by the end of January. That’s not surprising when you consider all the reasons people give for not sticking with their resolutions each year. But here’s the thing. Many of those people are lying to themselves, and until they understand what’s really going on, they will continue to fall short of their goals. I don’t want that to happen to you next year, so today I’m sharing information that will help you if and when your commitment to your goal begins to wane. See, if you understand what’s really causing you to abandon your goals, you’ll know how to overcome it. So, here are the real underlying reasons you may sometimes find it hard to stick with your goals. Reason 1: Not Believing in YourselfYou are God’s highest form of creation. If you pause for just a few moments, I think you’ll recognize that it’s true. Think about it. You can use your thoughts to create almost anything you seriously want. No other creature on earth can do that. You can use your imagination to create something that has never existed. Something that changes the world. And you can break performance records, write best-selling books, live in the house of your dreams, build homes and schools for families and children in need, and make all the money you want. You can do all those things and much more. But you have to believe in yourself. The question is, why don’t you believe in yourself? The truth is much of it is not your fault. You see, many of the beliefs you’ve been programmed with have been around for hundreds of years. Those beliefs might have made sense a long time ago, but they are absolutely absurd today since we live in such a different world. So, many of your current beliefs must be upgraded. Leland Val Van de Wall said, “Our belief system is based upon our evaluation of something, and frequently if we reevaluate a situation, our belief about that situation will change.” So if you don’t believe you can achieve your goal, then you must reevaluate some things… Reevaluate who you are. Reevaluate why you do what you do. Reevaluate what makes you tick. Reevaluate your feelings and behavior. And reevaluate where you are getting advice. The only person(s) you should seriously accept advice from is someone that has already done what you want to do. Belief is a prerequisite to accomplishing anything of any consequence. It doesn’t matter how much you wish you could reach a goal or how hard you work. If you don’t believe you can do something, you will not succeed. Reason 2: You Don’t Want It Bad EnoughIf you abandon a goal, it may be because it’s not exciting enough for you to put in the effort to reach it. While it might be something you feel you have to do or should do, it may not inspire you. Instead of setting uninspiring goals that you think you can achieve with just a little more effort, permit the thought that you truly are God’s highest form of creation to flow through your entire being. Give yourself a new title: Director. Realize that as the director of your life, you can make any movie that you want. Decide what story you want to tell, what scenes you want to shoot, and how you want the movie to end. Let your mind go and write down several things that you’d really, really like to be, do or have next year. Then, pick one idea as your goal—something you want, not what you need. There’s no inspiration in needs. If your goal is not big and beautiful, it won’t inspire you. And you will be far more likely to give up on it when the road to its manifestation gets rough. Reason 3: New Goal, Same MindsetMany people struggle to reach their goals because they set a goal without changing the way they think. For example, a salesperson whose sales are low will set a high-income goal for the year, but they give up on it within a few months. Or someone may decide each year that this is the year that they’ll get in shape. So, they start running five days a week, lift weights three days a week, and change their diet. However, within a few weeks, they stop exercising and go back to eating the way they’ve always eaten. Year after year, these people fall into the same old patterns that keep them from making the changes that are required to reach their goals. But why? They are trying desperately to change their END RESULTS. However, the RESULTS they get are and will continue to be determined by their ACTIONS, which are always motivated by their mindset. An unseen enemy is stopping these people because they do not understand that their mindset is the actual cause of their results. This is a common error that you may also be making—identifying with your present results because they are in harmony with your present mindset. Stop Doing This To Yourself Whenever you have failed to reach a goal or New Year’s Resolution, it was primarily due to one thing… what was going on in your mind at the time. So, next year, practice the following to shift your mindset to align with your goal: 1. Hold an image in your mind of a goal that truly inspires you (if the one you have now, doesn’t excite you, build a new one). 2. Determine the mindset you need to achieve your goal and act as if. 3. Make personal development a priority for you. 4. Change your self-talk and the way you talk to other people. Think and talk about how capable you are and how well things are going in your life. 5. Push past your discomfort and stick to a habit that will move you closer to your goal and the life you want. 6. Learn through repeated experiments that you are stronger and more capable than you think. 7. Listen to people who have already done what you want to do. With this practice, you will bring more of yourself to the surface. And, over time, you will realize that reaching your goal becomes not merely “possible” or “probable” … it becomes practically inevitable. |
