You and I are kindred spirits because you’re committed to playing a big
game in this lifetime - small dreams just won’t do. In order to make a radical shift in your level of success, you first must make a radical shift in your thinking and break out of the mediocre mindset you’ve been trapped in. While this may at first evoke a sense of fear, I urge you to not run from that and instead exploit it for your own gain. You see, I have this cardinal belief that, if utilized properly, fear can be your best friend. Fear can be one of the best internal motivators we have, our biological fight-or-flight response system that urges us to fight. David J. Schwartz, a motivational writer and coach from the 50’s, in his book The Magic of Thinking Big said that, “action cures fear” and that taking action in the direction of that fear will The Key To Winning ultimately release you from it. But I will go one step further and add that a discovered fear asks for action. To ignore that fear, to shy away from the thing that summons it, is to turn your back on the very thing that you are absolutely meant to do and to deny your purpose in life. If doing what it takes to achieve your dreams doesn’t scare you at least a little bit, you’re probably dreaming too small. Unfortunately, fear isn’t the only thing that holds people back from dreaming big. You might find yourself limiting your dreams out of guilt or shame, believing that your desire to become a millionaire is a selfish one. It’s a story I’ve heard countless times and a self-limiting belief that far too many people share: that money is inherently evil and the desire for it somehow makes you a bad person. Whatever the catalyst for this idea may be—an anti-materialistic parent, a political ideology, or a religious doctrine—trust me, I get it. For years, I used to get caught up feeling guilty about dreaming dreams that seemed overly materialistic. But when Warren Buffet donated billions of dollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, an incredible private foundation servicing a myriad of philanthropic developments, I realized that through the accumulation of wealth, we are able to contribute to others in a way that would never be possible without it. For many, achieving success may not be limited by guilt or shame, but by a mindset of scarcity. Many are plagued with the false belief that money is hard to come by. If you’ve ever felt like it’s only the lucky few who achieve millionaire status, let me enlighten you with some facts. Credit Suisse put out their Global Wealth Report for 2019 affirming that there are over 22 million millionaires in the world. So my question to you is; if there are 22 million other people who have become a millionaire, why not you?
