Today’s another one of those days…
Some days I’m on my A-game and some days (like today) I’m just not. Sitting here in my writing chair looking over my "email ideas" and nothing feels right to write about. Maybe you can relate to this… After 10 minutes of sitting here not knowing what to write and not feeling creative or motivated, I start justifying in my mind how I can just take the day off. The human mind is interesting - we can justify just about anything. I used to let that "justification" sabotage my actions. I was always "putting it off until tomorrow".
Quite often, I’d repeat this cycle every day so tomorrow would become next week or later. And I wondered why I wasn’t crushing my goals in life. Here’s the problem with putting things off because you just don’t feel like it… When you continually let your feelings sabotage your actions it becomes a habit. That habit of simple daily errors in judgment is what leads to a life of mediocrity if not all failure. Here’s what’s cool… In order to live a life of prosperity and success, you don’t have to absolutely crush it every single day… What leads to success are 3 words: Simple Daily Disciplines. Whether you "feel" like it or not, do what you know you need to do. Make the call... do the pushups... go to the gym... risk rejection... You know what you need to do today - do it. Or be ready to face mediocrity and failure. Take action even if you’re not on your A-game because your B game is way better than no game at all. Today, I’m writing this damn email even though I don’t feel like it. It may not be the best one I’ve ever written. But it’s sure a hell of a lot better than none at all!
