Make their goal your goal.
When you sponsor someone, identify their goal. What is it they’re passionate about achieving? Once you identify their goal, let them know that their goal is now your goal as well. Write it down somewhere and reference it when you’re in communication with them. Remind them of their goal and help them stay accountable for achieving it. As your group grows and you develop higher-level leaders, I recommend always having 3 leaders you’re working with to help push to the next rank. (Which in many cases will help push you to your next rank.) By making their goal, your goal, this not only keeps them focused and accountable, it builds loyalty because they see that you actually care about them. This process typically causes them to work harder on achieving their goal than they would on their own. It builds loyalty and retention... ...And it helps duplicate leadership because it teaches them how to support their leaders. This is simple and easy to do. But, like most things... Easier not to do. If you don’t have 3 people you’re working with to help them achieve their goal, I’d recommend making some calls today and identifying some people to focus on!
